Advancing Sustainable Development Through Engagement with REHDA Selangor & Kuala Lumpur

7 July 2026 – A delegation comprising representatives from the Selangor/W.P. Department of Minerals and Geoscience Malaysia (JMG), the Selangor Water Management Authority (LUAS), and the Institute of Geology Malaysia (IGM) conducted a courtesy visit to the Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association Malaysia (REHDA) Selangor & Kuala Lumpur.

The engagement aimed to strengthen strategic collaboration between government agencies and the property development industry while enhancing awareness of groundwater utilisation for development projects and the importance of geological risk management through the implementation of the Geological Site Verification Form (BPGT).

Discussions also covered broader topics related to sustainable development, natural resource management, including geosites, mineral resources, and environmental conservation, as well as the exchange of knowledge and best practices to support responsible and resilient development.

The constructive dialogue provided an excellent platform for both parties to exchange perspectives and explore opportunities for closer collaboration in promoting safer, more sustainable, and resilient development initiatives.

JMG, LUAS, and IGM extend their sincere appreciation to REHDA Selangor & Kuala Lumpur for the warm reception, valuable feedback, and continued support. This engagement marks another positive step towards strengthening partnerships between the geoscience community and the development sector for the benefit of the nation.
