The Institute of Geology Malaysia (IGM), represented by Sarah Rahman and Khairee M. Saad, participated in a courtesy visit to the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) on 3 September 2026 at Wisma FMM Selangor/KL, Glenmarie.

The engagement brought together representatives from IGM, the Department of Mineral and Geoscience Malaysia (JMG), Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (LUAS) and FMM to identify areas where technical expertise and industry experience could be connected more effectively.

Among the matters discussed were the role of geoscience in supporting industrial planning, alternative water resources, operational resilience and greater awareness of geological and environmental risks.

For IGM, the visit provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships with government agencies and industry stakeholders while exploring future initiatives involving professional knowledge-sharing, technical engagement and industry outreach.

IGM looks forward to supporting further collaboration that applies geoscience knowledge to practical industry needs and contributes to responsible and resilient development.
