Since the publication of the notice on the special announcement by IGM on the list of IGM members nominated for automatic registration with the Board of Geologists, there were a lot of queries from members about the term “Automatic Registration”.

This notice serves to clarify that “Automatic Registration” ONLY means that he or she who has been nominated by the IGM Council as in the list (on IGM website www.igm.org.my) is automatically qualified to register with Board of Geologists.

Those whose names are not in the list will have to undergone the due procedures as determined by the Board of Geologists for registration.

ALL nominated members are hereby reminded that they are required to fill in the appropriate forms for the class of registration they are qualified to apply for, and submit the form together with the relevant documents and payment.

All applications need to be submitted to the Board of Geologists office on or before 27 November 2015.

Forms for registering with Board of Geologists are available for download from IGM website www.igm.org.my or can be obtained directly from the office of the Registrar of the Board of Geologists.

For further details about the Registration of Geologists, please refer to the paragraph 19 – 28 of the Geologists Act 2008 (Act 689) which is available from IGM website (www.igm.org.my).
